On Thanksgiving we are to show thanks for the things we have, such as our health, family, and friends. Just because the calendar sets out a special day for thanksgiving, you can still celebrate it at any time. It could be as simple as thanking a friend for sticking with you during rough times. I think that counts as "thanksgiving" since you are thanking someone for them giving their time, love, etc. to you. The calendar may say Thanksgiving is celebrated once a year, but you can celebrate it whenever you want.

To celebrate the day of Thanksgiving once a year is enough because to celebrate it more than that it loses it's specialness. We can celebrate every day the things that we are thankful for such as our lives, Our partner, children, extended families and great friends, jobs, housing, food, pets etc. IF we do that than when Thanksgiving comes it's like putting the icing on the cake and just makes it even more special.

Yes. It's too much work for those who are making all the food, etc. And the cleanup is a bytch. Then you gotta figure out where to put all the food and how to eat it for the next 3-4 days. I liked it much better when my grandmother used to produce Thanksgiving. When I was little, we kids used to ride up and down the elevator in her apartment building and push all the buttons. Now, people are scattered around the country and so either you have 10 people or more or just 3.
You should just remember to be thankful for the good life you have on all the other days of the year.

You can't take a holiday every day, can you? It's appropriate to remember the spirit of the holiday all year around, but you can't spend every day following the celebration customs. I've never been to a Thanksgiving dinner, but I'm sure glad I only have to do the Christmas cooking once a year.

Yes. Thanksgiving comes once a year. To eat a big turkey and have the day off from school or work. But the real meaning of Thanksgiving is suppose to be greatful. And that, my friend, we should do EVERYDAY.

We don't use US-style thanksgiving in Europe. In Brit we have harvest thanksgiving at the end of the summer and offerings are displayed in local churches and children from local schools distribute hampers to the elderly and disabled in their areas. It is not a public holiday as it is in the US and there is no formal thanksgiving meal.

Certainly it is right to celebrate Thanksgiving only once a year. There is a great story that goes along with that first Thanksgiving. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What we should do daily is celebrate our many blessings as we do on Thanksgiving.~ In the U.S we have been blessed !!!

Being an Englishman perhaps its not best for me to say but...
Its never a good idea to dwell too much on the past. If you celebrated this more than once, you would end up celebrating Christmas more, memorial services.. Your whole life would be about what others have already done.
Peace.
