Abdominal pains are quite common throughout pregnancy, even at the early stages because your body is changing and strecthing. I used to get sharp side pains which turned out to be wind and constipation related. If the pain is particularly sharp or uncomfortable or if there is any bleeding then you need to go and see your gp or midwife.

What you are describing sounds like round ligament pain. There are two ligaments on either side of the uterus and as it grows they stretch and this can give you a sharp stabbing pain or "stitch" in your side.
It's perfectly normal. Most often happens when you are changing positions - from sitting to standing or vice versa. Or sometimes even when you cough or sneeze.
To make it go away, relax and find a comfortable position to sit in until the pain eases. You might massage the area gently with the palm of your hand, too.

It is not uncommon to get sharp pains in the sides as the uterus enlarges and the ovarian ligaments stretch. If you are concerned, you should call your midwife or doctor. Enjoy your first pregnancy, it is an exciting time, and as more children come along, you have less and less time to revel in the cool stuff your body is doing.

I experienced something similar some weeks in the past (i'm 30 weeks now) yet I went to the overall practitioner and it turned right into a pulled muscle in my abdomen. It turned right into a pointy soreness and then harm for a pair days after yet no longer too poor. i wager the child changed into pulling ahead and that i grew to develop into or something which brought about it. It changed into better with muscle relaxers.

I am early on in my second pregnancy and have been having this too, I know mine is gas! lol, try laying on your stomach for a few minutes (it's early enough that its safe to do) that should offer some relief!
