I am liking a light blue color.

Personally I like a white shirt with a dark suit - but also I like the look of a white collar and cuffs (french cuffs of course with a nice pair of cufflinks) shirt with a solid body color of yellow or blue or pink - they'd all look good with a dark business suit.
If it's a 3 piece suit even better!

It is a latest trend for men to wear lighter colours with black suites. I know it sounds weard but specially in London it is quite fashionable if you have baby pink or baby blue colour shirts on.

You can never go wrong with white but if you want something different, try a light blue or a beige, taupe, grey, olive green, black is accepting of any colour.

white always works, but personally I like to see a man who is in a deep blue shirt, not dark but deep blue, it looks excellent.

white, ivory, pale blues. Stay clear of jewel tones and (god forbid!) stripes. You can add color with a solid color tie.
