I once had a book called True Facts and there were pictures in it of internal human combustion.

Spontaneous human combustion has never been scientifically proven, so right now it's just a myth. Actually, it's more of a theory or belief than a myth.

Fiction. The body is in basic terms too moist to burn spontaneously. you want an accelerant of a few kind to make it burn - maximum circumstances of spontaneous human combustion were shown that something else has brought concerning the initial conflagration.

Fiction, although there is a phenomenon called wicking which explains the finding of totally burnt bodies, excluding the extremities, in rooms or other areas which exhibit no signs of fire or burning in the immediate vicinity of the burnt body.
In essence a small smouldering fire, caused by a cigarette or other similar item ignites part of the clothing. The smouldering clothing acts as a wick and the body fat of the dead person, as it melts, acts as the fuel. These fat fed fires can burn slowly for hours resulting in the almost complete destruction of the body, apart from the extremities (arms and legs) without setting on fire any surrounding combustible materiel. I've added a link which gives several examples of this and the results of tests on pig carcasses.

there have been tests on this, controlled scientific ones of course, and they have found that certain things can cause it but none of these are part of the human anatomy, so it isnt the human exloading ito flames, it is something they were carrying/had in their pocket which set their clothes on fire, but it burnt so rapidly that it seemed they set on fire from nothing. so it is a myth

I can assure you 100% it is fiction.
This has been investigated and proven for years and it can even be recreated in a lab!!!
Email me if you need details - it gets quite involved.

no one real explanation has been found for it. There are several theories as to why it happens though. Such as it tends to happen to people who are overweight, or drink a lot.
