I've gotta make dinner for 14...and haven't done this in a few years for Thanksgiving. I'm just hoping to find something so yummy that everyone will crave for again and again. Appetizers? The meal's side dish...or something a special pie. Any good ideas out there? Hope so. Thanks! And Happy Thanksgiving!

This stuffs a 20 - 25 pound turkey with some left over to cook in the pan or seperately:

6 large loaves of cheap white sandwich bread
6 large eggs or larger
3 sticks of butter
2 medium onions - finely chopped
1 stalk/bunch of celery - finely chopped
3/4 large jar of poultry seasoning
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups boiling water or chicken broth - amount may vary depending on how dry the bread is.

Into a large container like the bottom of the turkey roasting pan or a large Rubber Maid storage bin - something with a lid - tear the bread into small pieces. Mix in egge, oinions, celery, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Slice butter over mixture and mix in. Pour boiling water over bread and cover with a clean towel and the container's lid. Let set 5 minutes. Mix. Add more liquid if you want a moister dressing. Stuff bird. Cook any remaining dressing in the pan with the bird adding during the last 45 minutes of cooking.

Apple innards....well basically it is the inside of the apple pie without the crust. My family likes the innards but not really the pie crust, so I have gone to making it without the crusts. I usually use a food processor and shred the apples finely instead of leaving them in big chunks. This is a big hit with my family. If it isn't made, then it isn't thanksgiving to us.

Have a great turkey day:)

Corn Cassorole is great too.

Take 1 can regular corn
1 can cream corn
1 stick of butter melted
1 box of Jiffy cornbread mix
1 egg

Drain the can of corn and set aside -do not pour it out as u wil need it. Mix all the ingredients in a dish. Oven is set to 375. After all ingrediants are mixed, add the corn water back into the mix and stir good. This will keep it from drying out. Bake for 50-60 minutes. Check center for doneness.

You can also add in chile peppers to give it some kick if you would like. It is good either way

I love green bean casserole but instead of the regular cream of mushroom soup, get it with roasted garlic and also use the cheddar cheese flavored French's french fried onions. Makes a world of difference. Since you are cooking for 14 you may want to double the amount of it.
