I know this movie is outdated and does not have the special effects of today's movie but if you have not seen the original version of "The Haunting" 1962 in black and white, it will completely freak you out. Turn you lights down and watch it with a friend. The mood with the music, the characters, the house, the noises will send chills up your spine. No rubbish here, just a plain old scary movie. I don't scare easy but I'll tell you I would never go into that house ever under any circumstances and I usually don't find it a problem to visit haunted houses at all.

Go get the old movie Johnny Got His Gun. It's about a WW1 Soldier who loses all his limbs and face and is kept alive as a thinking feeling blob, basically. Not really a horror film, but freaky alright - - - it's a proper nightmare.

Try some of the Eastern Eye movies, they're Japanese. Even though most of them aren't scary at all they at least have somewhat of a plot going on.
