Can anyone fail to notice?

It is impossible to get a house of your own now, they are too expensive.

The cost of living has gone up to pretty much double what it was five or ten years ago.

Taxes have gone up.

Minimum wage has stayed the same, disposable income has fallen.

Why the hell does anyone stay in this shithole of a country? I'm certainly not. Im ex army and have served my time here, I've also got a degree and am currently training to be a nurse (nearly finished too.) So when I graduate, I'm sodding off to Oz, where I will be treated better as a nurse and will be able to make a decent life for myself.

I owe this country no loyalty anymore, not after it has screwed me (and many others) over so much for so long.

It's been going on for the last few years if you noticed and on top of it most people have had pay freezes for years now so need a 2nd job to get by. The good old British government ey.Youngsters think the Conservatives will do a better job? Wrong! I've never forgiven them from last time and alot of youngsters -well under 30's will vote for them cos they have no knowledge of what it was like living under them. This is how they will get their votes. It will only get worse!!

I wouldn't say sky rocketing, in fact, the housing market has gone down a bit since last year. I think things are inflating more than they should, but it's still cheaper than other big cities in the US.

I know! I've no idea how people afford luxuries anymore, the basics clean me out!

No more going out! We are off to friends later, everyone is bringing a different bit of dinner - we have done the chicken and an apple crumble.

Should be a good night and less than half the price of going out somewhere!

The high living standards of the West depends on cheap oil. The cost of most items depend on oil for transportation, packaging, manufacturing, and farming needs.

The media (at least in the US) has not emphasized the vast increases in costs and prices. In fact, the US administration has bent over backward to find ways to minimize it.

The truth is, our costs will rise with the price of a barrel of oil. Please read about "peak oil" to learn more about why the price of oil will continue to skyrocket!

Death has given best answer on this question without a doubt. I agree totally. Anybody who remembers living under Mrs Thatchers rule, and the closing down and selling off that her goverment done, remembers a time in life not very enjoyable.

Yep the cost of living is extortionate and MPs are both lying and getting richer, that is why when I am older I want to emigrate to Greece - cost of living is good , safe country and good lifestyle.

This will go on forever, you have to shop around.
I pay no more than 50p for a loaf.
I refuse to snob shop, I go to Lidl or Aldi for everyday shopping and only go to the others for things they don't sell. The quality of all produce in these shops is equivalent to, if not better than, the other supermarkets.
Give them a go, you may be pleasantly surprised.
