Can I just level the earth and put down sand or do I have to get a builder to put down a hardcore base for the slabs? Thank you.

Why dont you get some pre packed dolomite and sharp sand from B&Q and put a good slab base in. It seems like a lot of work but it will be well worth it in the end, your greenhouse will be so much easier to keep clean and the slabs will stop the weds coming through the floor it will also be better for holding any shelving or racks.

You can do it yourself. When you lay down at least 2" of sand, you should make sure it is nice and level and then compact it either with a rented compactor or a hand compactor

Certainly valid answers from 1 and 2.

You can use a more substantial substrate. I use crushed limerock simply to aid in any shift in soil; washouts, etc.

yes just do it yourself. you would only need hardcore if ground was very soggy a lot or it has to carry a lot of weight.

PS can i do it for you? i have a few things i would like to bury
