It's too obvious to send these out at Christmas.
Save them till June or July (when Christmas is forgotten) then Tippex out Christmas write in birthday and no one knows.
Most of my friends find a "Merry Birthday" card quite unique.

Instead of using Tipex why don't you cut out some plain paper and stick it over the already written on bits....much tidier than Tipex.....LOL.

As long as folks already know, or are clearly informed that you are making your small contribution to reducing global warming through implementing a comprehensive re-cycling strategy.
(BUT: Due to the toxic volatiles in Tippex I think it would also be more ecofriendly simply to draw a line through the previous name with a pencil made from renewable wood resources....
OR...simply leave the old name on the card and don't sign it at all -- this way you also conserve pencil lead, PLUS they will think it is the other person whose been a pennypinching cheapskate and not you!
AND...don't forget NOT to put a stamp on the envelope, this preserves the forests through less consumption of paper for stamps and fewer horses and donkeys culled to make glue.)

As long as there is nothing giving away that you used it last year, go ahead.
If it has the year on it, or a persons name, dont. People can see white out and they know what it means.
If its an E-card and you're backspacing/deleating the name and typing a new one, who'll know?
I buy christmas cards (and other cards for that matter) in bulk and they last me for several years. I think its whats said that is more important, not that you used last years design on a fresh card.

At the risk of sounding like a chicken - cheap, cheap, cheap.
You could on the other hand, cut the front off the card and use it as a tag for your gifts. Sometimes I keep really nice cards and use them as decorations - I cut them out, punch a hole and hang them up. Really nice ones can be framed cheaply.
You could just display them with any cards from this year to make it look like you've got lots of friends.
An ex of mine used to use pencil to write in cards, he figured the recipients could just erase it and use it again.

Personally, I would prefer to receive a hand written note, or a home made card. I think the tippexed out name idea just looks as if you don't care about the recipient.

Would look cheap and unprofessional.
But if you know that another person wont care -send it.
However if you want to keep that person as a friend - don't do it.
It will ruin the relationship and, like somebody said above, "will loose one of your buddies".
Good (read cheap) thinking though :)

Well given the amount of tippex you will need, it will be much more expensive to do that, than to buy a box of value cards from the shops! :)
So it depends whether you'd prefer to spend your money on tippex or a box of value christmas cards!
