I would say YES. If both are responsible and both are signing a lease/ application then yes yes yes. Too many times 2 people go in only to have 1 be a bum who doesn't want to pay. I would do it it doesn't hurt. Unless only one of them wants to fill out lease and be responsible for the apartment. In that case I would not look into the other persons credit history but would consider if the 1 person renting could afford the place on their own. Good Luck.

Assuming that both applicants are to be on the lease, you are encouraged to check the credit histories and backgrounds of both. One could be a fine upstanding person and the other could be a felon with a horrid record.
Always remember the old saying about 'strange bedfellows'.

If 2 human beings are putting their call on the hire, the two could placed up a credit examine, the two go through all effects in the hire, and no you could no longer pay 0.5 your hire up front. You get a money order for the completed finished or 2 money orders with separate totals. And once you're renting for the 1st time and asking questions like this I advise get a cosigner.

To be safe, you should treat them as separate applicants. It is not an imposition on them and it gives you the security you need. Checking on both of them is a good idea. For example, one may be a con man who has just gotten out of jail and befriended the other who does not realize he is being conned.

YES, YES, YES. Get both of them to fill out separate applications.
You need to make sure that both occupants will be responsible for the rent and the condition of the apartment.

Two applications, two background checks, two credit checks! They have no legal liability to each other! Good Luck!
