I live here and you will need a jacket at night and since the sun shines almost every day here it gets quite a bit warmer during the day. Even though they say the day time temp is 50,that temp is taken in the shade ... in the sun you can add another 15 degrees or so. Not really shorts weather but you won't need a coat unless you are a local and you are use to the really hot weather.

I went a couple years ago for New Year's and it was really cold for what you'd imagine. I went out with a long sleeved (thin material) shirt and a skirt, and was freezing when I had to walk outside. (Traffic was impossible to get a cab so we wound up walking a few blocks in the evening)
If you plan on being outside, or if you have to walk from place to place, I'd bring a lighter jacket to layer over another top.

The normal high temperature in Las Vegas in December is right around 60F, with lows around 40F. The record highs are in the low to mid 70s, and the record lows are in the teens. If it's windy it will feel even colder.

It depends where you live and what your used to.
If you live in Alaska...its very warm, wear a long sleve shirt.
Now for normal people... Just wear a long sleve shirt with jeans but if it does get "cold" then just wear a sweatshirt with it...

Christmas was cool and I had the flu
cool means one or two swet shirts.
that is is.
heat just to take a shower. the off for the day
New Years was like 75 degrees last year
