how do you know when a girl is having her period and what to do when she is having it? also how long does it last for?

You probably won't know unless she tells you. Sometimes you can smell it but that's rare. She might get cramps in her lower abdomen which could be a sign (an a sign for you to be extra nice to her!)
It lasts from anywhere between 3 days or 7 but it varies a lot from girl to girl.
If you want to know just ask her (if you are in a relationship with her...if you're just friends she probably won't want to tell you). Don't go snooping around her bathroom because that's just creepy.

The period can last anywhere from 3-7 days. As to what to do for her when she's having it being nice by asking if you can get her a cup of tea or some other drink. One way to know when a girl is having her period is if you find that she's not feeling well and maybe gets irritated at something that she normally wouldn't do otherwise.

Once you get to know a girl there will be no need for questions.
But, she may become irritable and weepy couple of days before - DON'T ASK 'Have you got yr period? cos she is likely to hit you?
Be sensitive to her needs. Can last 4-7 days.

what to do? continue to be loving, supportive, understanding and caring.
I always enjoy a lower back massage when i've got mine.
It can last a few days to just over a week. I have mine for 4 days.

You wont know unless you Ask or sometimes it can be the mood change which can happen. it can last for 5-9 days.

You can always ask her. Don't do anything, just be nice. About four days.
