No two applications are identical, often you need to do some pipe fitting , best to use your torch and copper fittings as you won't be able to access it later. Could use a combination of pipe fittings and flex hoses but it might take some creative thinking.

What you need is a piece called a "nipple" (I didn't make this up...lol) and some Teflon tape. A nipple is basically just a short length of pipe that's threaded on both ends. For the tub faucet it should be 1/2" Measure the distance from the wall to the front of the fitting inside the wall and add about a 1/2" Then do the same with the faucet and add the 2 numbers together It should be around 6" or so.Then wrap both of the threaded ends with tape.Screw it into the faucet first!!!.Just get it good and tight by hand Thats all thats needed Then screw the whole thing into the wall untill your faucet is flush to the wall and facing down..

That plumbing fixture is very common , was popular for the past 20 years or so in North America so many, if not every single bathroom renovator have the experience to deal with this combination of fixtures. Dont worry, it is not as uncommon and difficult as you seem to make it out to be.

Hire the pros.

Yeah, Home Depot or Lowes can probably help you more than anyone here.

take a picture and print it out. take it to HD or Loew's or Ace until you find someone that can advise you.

You likely need to buy another faucet set.
