I love "Confederacy of Dunces"; Ignatius J Reilly is one of the memorable characters I ever met in a book.

Lonesome Dove. But only because I read it slowly, almost episodicly, each morning at the bookstore I used to work at.

Confederacy of Dunces is great too but when I've read it, put it down, I find I have to start at the beginning again. One of these days I'll sit down and read the whole book straight through.

Definitely Lonesome Dove. I am not a big fan of Westerns, but the Lonesome Dove series makes a great read.
