Yes I do. I use self deprecation even when I don't mess up. I find that it makes other people more comfortable when they realize we are all feeling a bit imperfect.

I used to, with very negative results. As people and society in general grow meaner and more insensitive, I have stopped using self-depreciating words whenever I make a mistake. A typical response years ago was "That's okay, I do the same thing sometimes." Today, an example of a response is "Yeah, you sure did mess up, you don't know what you're doing!" In other words, people are extraordinarily quick to criticize others, either up front or behind people's backs. Therefore, one certainly does not need to criticize oneself.

Sorry? Yep, I try to fix it. Is it really considered self depreciating when I mess up? I think, no. It is polite to apologise. I will not beg. I may try to overexplain myself in a pitiful voice that I do not recognise. But i am not depreciating myself.

I hav a feelimg u asked that because u messed up recently. well, ive made one of the biggest mistakes in my life and i call myself an idiot, a retard, a self-centered, insensitive, socially rejected geek, mainly because of what i did, abd bcuz theyre true. i dont know what u did, but although it may make us feel better, its not right. I caused myself to lose the girl of my dreams. I feel horrible but i felt better when i dissed myself. But the feeling is brief bcuz the depression after u diss urself after messing up drives u to feel even worse.

Why would I ? I would not abuse another if they messed up (Well not very often anyway) so I would not abuse myself either. Be kind and gentle with yourself. It would be far better to find out why you messed up and take steps to rectify it.

I usually swear a lot if I'm working on my own which is a bad habit.

If it's a mistake that effects other, I do kind of put myself down.

No.

I hate labels.

For me it is an internal conflict that results in me torturing my character to find out if I am who I ought to be....
