log (base x) 25 = 5 means that x^5=25 whence we conclude that x=(25)^(1/5) or x=5^(2/5).

log(base x) 25 = 5
=> x^5 = 25
=> x = 25^(1/5)

log (base x) a = b

=> x^b = a

Therefore x^5 = 25 => x = 5th root of 25 = 1.09365...

log (base x) 25 = 5

x^5 = 25
x = 25^(1/5) = (5²)^(1/5) = 5^(2/5)

Its a bit of a guess but I would go with x being equal to 1. 5 x 5 does equal 25 so it would make sense for that variable not to change that side of the equation.

2007-11-18 04:18:59 · answer #5 · answered by Robert B 2 · 0 5

log (base x) 25 = 5
x^5 = 25
5ln(x) = ln(25)
ln(x) = (ln(25))/5
x = e^(ln(25))/5
x ≈ 1.903654

Another approach is
x = 25^0.2 ≈ 1.903654

2007-11-18 04:34:17 · answer #6 · answered by Helmut 7 · 1 0

the answet is x=2. because when you put it into exponential form:

5^x=25

and obviously

5^2=25.
