I mean: the people have nothing to say about their new laws and so on. we cant even have referendums over the reform treaty (the new Eurpean Constitution) is that fair?

Mostly the far right and the far left as far as parties go and that's a shame because the doubts and skepticism about the EU are much more mainstream in the general public.
I'm certainly not against the European Union because it brings peace and prosperity and did so since the end of WW2. No war and a stable economy are things I value.
So though I'm certainly not against the EU as a whole and even support what the EU could be I think the institutions sufferer from a serious Democratic deficit. It's mainly a project of politicians and too much focused on economic interests. A tool for big business.
We are the people and the more the EU transforms into a kinda super governmental body that decides all kinds of important things while we have less and less influence on those decisions the more I will become anti European Union
