At Maple Leaf Gardens, a pregnant woman and her husband were attending a game. At some point in the action, she said it was time to go to the hospital. So the two started down the stairs.
Along the way, Bob Nevin scored a goal. The family took as it a sign,and decided to name the child after him if it were a boy.
Sure enough, it was. So Nevin came into the world a while later. That boy eventually became a hockey player. Remarkably enough, he himself became an NHL player.
So Nevin Markwart seemed destined to play in hockey's best league.

Billy McCane Jr. had 2 assists for the Tillsonburg Titans in a losing effort to the Dave's Variety in atom house league action yesterday. McCane was on pace to setting the season record for assists, however, he was forced to leave the game before the end of the first period when his father summoned him to help retrieve one of the cows that had gotten loose and was wandering in a neighbouring garden.
