what kind/type of dog do you prefer to own? Why?

Oh how I wish we could have a dog. People in our condo have them as we are allowed to. But in a house my hubby and I might have our first to do as he wants a Boxer. They are beautiful but drool. Me? I want a Shepherd cross and if it could be a Wolf cross, like my friends had, all the better. I loved that dog and it was mutual. In a house they could live inside or outside. They would have a well insulated house outdoors for those times they would want to sleep outdoors.

We talk about adopting a dog into our multi-species family, probably someone medium sized. I like German Shepherds, but they'd be too big (of course, he or she'd live indoors), & think Poms are adorable, but my SO says they're too small & our cats would bully him/her. Probably the right dog for us will find us tho-- these things have a way of working out.
BTW, I've always thought that song is a howl ;-)
