I think it is great that he is a candidate for president because that has put the libertarian ideas out into the mainstream of public discussion. However, most of these ideas are extreme ideals which have never been put into practice. They may sound good on paper or in a speech, but they won't work for practical reasons.

The conservatives and libertarians love the guy. The democrats and liberals really dont like him. After Bush's term, it seems very unlikely any republican can make it into office at least until a term with a democrat has passed. So it seems he wont get elected this term :(
