C
You use 'have separated' instead of 'separated' in this case as the time of separation is not specified. For spoken discourse, either 'live' or 'are living' are used but 'are living' is technically correct because even though they are separated we don't know if there is a chance of their reunion or not.

D is the right one.

" I hear Mr & Mrs. White have seperated; they live alone now. "

But there is a logical mistake in the 2nd part... we cant say "they" live alone now, becoz They denotes both of them as a single entity.

They dont live together now will be a better substitution if we want to retain "they"

or
"Each of them lives alone now "

This is the kind of dumb, pointless task I have been railing about in English language teacher training seminars for years. We know NOTHING about Mr and Mrs White, or their arrangements, and in the absence of this information, all answers are equally possible, which is why you get so many, and why you can only accept them all. So anyone who says 'well, technically, X is correct, but...' is just confused, and understandably so. Technically, you can make a case for all possibilities, as there is no context here.

c is right..

since the second sentence has present continuous tense(now) - are living is right..
& 1st sentence is in present perfect tense..thus have separated is right...
