I think their coffee is over roasted and tastes burnt. It's also ridiculous to pay over $4 for a coffee drink. They're making a fortune! I can save a lot of money and have much better coffee if I just make it at home, which I do now instead of taking 10 minutes and spending $4 on a coffee.

I think Starbucks still has some good policies. Some of this may have changed, but I know that Starbucks used to have very good benefits for their employees. Plus, they support coffee farmers all over the world. I'm not so sure that the price for a cup of coffee should be as much as a galllon of milk or gas. water + bean = $2 in atlanta. In paris it was $3 euro (if not more).

No, it is not just you. Their concept seems to be....grow, grow, grow, grow. They are building new shops on every street corner, and with the idea of growing they are losing sight of their product and the quality of their product along the way.
I worked at a coffee shop for four years and in that time, I became a huge coffee snob. The owner's husband roasted all of their coffee beans himself with their roaster, and it makes such a difference. When you have freshly roasted beans and then go to a place such as Starbucks where it is mass produced, you can tell a difference. Starbucks always has a burnt coffee taste and they seem to try and hide it with their fancy drink condiments, but you just can't hide the awful taste.

I love Starbucks. I wish I had my Venti Toffee Nut Latte with Whipped Cream right now instead of this crappy cup I made at home I'm sipping on.

Starbucks - bad coffee, but they offer urbanites a place where they belong. It is a kind of club.
The beans are all over roasted.
The coffee drinks, as well as the cappucino are very high in calories (a venti cappucino has over 200 calories, before the sweetener is added).
If you have to go there, order a "short"

Ehh, Starbucks is just doing what everyone else would do if they were ever put in that business situation: Try and beat everyone until they're making as much cash as they can. It's not that they've changed as much as they've just grown, if you want my opinion.

Starbucks is okay. I just get their hot coffee. All the other drinks are a waste of money.

It is another mass marketing franchise which takes advantage of the laws that allow big corperations to enslave and hurt the small family farmers globally. Mc Donalds of Coffee I wonder who is the Burger Kin of Coffee?

i was addicted for a while to their mocha frappuccinos, my boyfriends mom was a manager at one, well she still is but that's another topic, anyway i used to get them for free all the time!! they are wayy over priced, but i do think they serve delicious drinks. on the other hand, i'm not too fond of big corporations. for a number of reasons, tho they offer benefits for their employees they also take business away from small mom & pop businesses. being part of a corporate chain they are prone to change as most businesses are, they have to keep up with demanding customers and other competing businesses. so to think that way, no your not alone.
