No PC is reliable. They're running a shoddy operating system that has security holes in it bigger than the Titanic.

True story, I used to work for one of the biggest names in PC manufacturing. On the assembly line floor in quality control... so many units failed the quality control testing that the fail screen was burned in to all of the monitors at each station.

Another true story, several family members of mine also work for some of the biggest names in PCs and recently trashed all of the systems they'd bought from their employer and replaced them with Macs. Why? Because they were sick and tired of wasting time constantly fixing random PC problems.... doesn't say much for them when people whose salaries are made by the sale of these PCs don't even trust them enough to have them in their own home... does it?

With that said, I bought my first Mac 7 years ago and have yet to have one single virus, a single system crash and one single piece of spyware/malware.... and haven't needed any extraneous applications installed to protect me from them.

You want reliable... you want a Mac.

Hi, r u talking about hardware or the operating system itself. Hardware for a pc all depends on ur requirements, funds, pc brand preferences or whether u want a custom made one. That is up to u. If u r talking about a reliable operating system then there is nothing better than Linux. Linux never crashes or ever gets spoiled. I hope I helped.
Good Luck!

I have been happy with several models of Dell desktops. The few times we have had problems, Dell has responded quickly and accurately. Windowx XP with 512M or more.

It should be HP.

If you plan to buy, look for specifications. A bit higher in price is better than if you buy a cheaper one and just in a while your computer has been categorised as 'slow'. I mean, buy a bit expensive is better than you regret later.
