Yes, everyone has an agenda, although many don't realize it. People act as they do because they derive some benefit from their actions. Some people derive pleasure (or satisfaction, if you prefer) from treating others well. Some derive pleasure from outsmarting others or besting others at something, or even from causing pain or misfortune to others. Some are driven to make monetary gains from others. In any interaction, each party is "using" the other in some sense. This is not "wrong", it is just how we work. While it is good to be aware of the nature of personal interactions, thinking of them as "using" each other may not be the healthiest frame of mind.
