No, as long as you graduate from high school, you can go to college. You probably will need to go to what is called a community college first, partly because they will accept you even if you didn't do too well in high school, and partly because it is the least expensive way to start college.

Well I don't know if going to college is going to make you smart. What is important is what you get out of college.I never went to High School but I went to Community College for a year and then spent eight years at a University to earn a Master's Degree.I was always ahead of the students in my Grade school classes and Middle school classes.I Graduated from The University of Michigan with a 3.6 6 GPa for my two BAs and 3.27 for my MA.I earned two BAs, one in Psychology and one in Philosophy.I didn't give a hoot if I could get a job or not after graduation.I was only interested in learning what interested me.My main interests were Brain Physiology and the great thinkers through history.Well I made a lot of friends tutoring them and pulling them through their classes at a nominal fee.I made friends with many Full Professors and went on to work at the Community College I once attended. But all that I have said is irrelevant to you.In school you should try to envision the future and what skills are going to be required. Now we are waving adios to the Industrial Age and Hello to the IT Age.The Age of Information. Now think of a computer as a human being. It is Intake, Processing ,and Output.Out of all those I would take a good look at computer security.Getting rid of the Hackers, the Worms,The Trojan Horses,The Viruses,etc...There will already be too many computer programmers, too many people working on making the microchip smaller than say 32 nanometers.Too many imagers, xexers, and printers.Yes you must learn as much Mathematics as you can.Hey but what's wrong with a well-rounded education?Learn some history, politics, philosophy, psychology, and other social sciences along the way.Kid I'm telling you the honest truth, society is attempting to commit Genocide on all the poor population. You will be part of that population without college.I'm 60 and rapidly losing my eyesight don't blow your chance kid.College is fun and I mean the academic aspects. In the days before all these veneral diseases hit and we had used up all the real fun I had more women than I can count. At college you will find plenty of fresh ones but don't let them mess up your education.Take my advice and read, read, read.Do math problems,do math problems,do math problems.

Yeah, community college is probably the best way to go for you. But try to improve your study skills and grades starting now so you will be prepared for college when the time comes.
