SEC.

Anyone who thinks it's the Big Ten knows little about college football, considering that of the 48 non-conference games the Big Ten played:

- 8 were against I-AA schools (OSU vs. Youngstown State, Illinois vs. Western Illinois, Michigan vs. Appalachian State, Wisconsin vs. Citadel, Purdue vs. Eastern Illinois, Indiana vs. Indiana State, Northwestern vs. Northeastern, Minnesota vs. North Dakota State) and they lost 2 of those
- 18 were against the MAC (OSU vs. Akron , OSU vs. Kent State, Illinois vs. Ball State, Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan, Wisconsin vs. Northern Illinois, Penn State vs. Buffalo, Penn State vs. Temple, Iowa vs. Northern Illinois, Iowa vs. Western Michigan, MSU vs. Bowling Green, Purdue vs. Toledo, Purdue vs. Central Michigan, Indiana vs. Western Michigan, Indiana vs. Akron, Indiana vs. Ball State, Northwestern vs. Eastern Michigan, Minnesota vs. Bowling Green, Minnesota vs. Miami (OH))
- 4 were against 2-9 Notre Dame
- Only 8 were against I-A schools who currently have winning records (Illinois vs. Missouri, Illinois vs. Ball State, Michigan vs. Oregon, MSU vs. Bowling Green, Purdue vs. Central Michigan, Indiana vs. Ball State, Minnesota vs. Bowling Green, Minnesota vs. Miami (OH)) and they lost 3 of those (lost the only 2 of those 8 that were against other BCS conference teams)
- Only 9 were against schools from other BCS conferences (OSU vs. Washington, Illinois vs. Missouri, Illinois vs. Syracuse, Michigan vs. Oregon, Wisconsin vs. Washington State, Iowa vs. Syracuse, Iowa vs. Iowa State, MSU vs. Pittsburgh, Northwestern vs. Duke)

Best conference? Please. How about worst and should have to give up your BCS berth?

The top teams in all of the other conferences would be 3 or 4 loss teams if they played in the SEC especially the teams from the PAC 10, Big 10, and Big 12. LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and probably Kentucky, South Carolina, and maybe even Alabama would have mopped the field up with them. There's a reason that most of the players drafted to the NFL come from the SEC. You people are stupid.

It seems to be tough to play in any conference and with the way college football is going this year, it's a wacky season. The top conference to me is still the SEC. They're a bit overrated but nobody can really match with them. I would follow them up with the Big 12, ACC, Pac 10, Big East, and last the Big 10. I'm sorry but the ACC is severely underrated due to the fact that FSU and Miami are not good anymore. Do they have to be good for the ACC to be good.

As a Big 10 guy, its hard for me to admit this, but this year its the SEC. Then probably the Big 12, then the Big 10. Pac 10 has showed its weakness the last couple weeks, and i'm not even going to start with the Big (L)East. The ACC definitely isn't what it used to be anymore, either.

I'm not saying the WAC is the best conference in Division 1 football... BUT, they do have TWO teams in the top 20 this year, something that hasn't happened in WAC history in a long time. Props to the wac which is getting better.

The Big 10 is the best conference. OSU is going to the Granddaddy Of Them All (The Rose Bowl) even though they have one loss, and many other teams are bowl-eligible.

The Big 10, 10 of 11 teams have a .500 or better record. Translation: 10 bowl eligible teams. Sounds competitive to me.

You will probably get 11 different answers.

Personally I say Big 10.
10 of 11 bowl eligble.... Still possible for OSU to make NC,,, still possible for 2 BCS bowls. And has a winning record vs SEC last year, last 5 year and .500 last decade.
