Let's put it this way. My aiming really sucks bigtime. I mean i can find the enemy really good but when i do, the enemy has killed me already.

I point the gun, heck even with the red dot, and i still get shot to death cause my aiming and quickness is just horrible.

Anyway, do i just keep practicing or are those people that are good just born with a good thumb? It's really discouraging to get killed so many times online.

I need help. Any pointers would be great, thank!

Well with CoD4 as in any FPS, practice is an important part of the process. The best way to get better would just be to play more and more and learn how to improve yourself, I personally recommend learning to crouch when your in the area of enemies, battlefeild awareness, and knowing where people are. I've watched my friends play and most of the times they will forget to look at their mini-map or will miss that 1 player who always moves through the edge of their screen.

You realize of course that cover and concealment is everything. Standing out in the open upright will get you one between the eyes quicker that you can blink. I'm under the assumption you're playing on 'easy' as starting out in 'veteran' is suicide unless you know what you're doing.
On the 'easy' mode you can absorb a load of hits before everything goes red. So you clearly aren't taking advantage of cover.
Don't be afraid to make use of a grenade or two either. They work beautifully in clearing out machine gun nests or getting the job done while clearing rooms.
