Lol, your dinner shouldn't come from a list. Just go out and get something YOU want to serve. Chill.

P.S. What about the turkey?

Your dinner already sounds wonderful, but here is a veggie side that always brings compliments and requests for the recipe (Also a goody to make because it can be used like a gravy for the turkey, potatoes and stuffing, or just as a side dish!)

In a med-heavy saucepan:
One can of whole kernel corn
pint of 1/2 & 1/2 cream
1/4 cup sugar, bring to boil over medium-high heat, stirring often.

When is begins to boil removbe the pan from heat and in a small frying pan make a "rue":
2 heaping tablesppons of flour and 1/3 -1/2 stick melted butter. It will look like paste. Add it to the corn mixture, retun it to low heat and stir until it thickens. It will thicken further upon standing.

If you want to add another dessert, go with home-baked cookies, they are always a hit!

Green Bean Casserole is a staple at our Thanksgiving table: GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE 2 cans julienne cut green beans 1 can cream of mushroom soup - undiluted 1/2 c milk 1 tsp soy sauce dash of pepper 1(3 1/2 oz) can French fried onions (I use a large can) (I also add either sliced or slivered almonds) Stir soup, milk, soy and pepper until smooth. Mix in the green beans, almonds, and half the can of onions. Bake in preheated 350º oven for 25 minutes. Stir. Top with remaining onions. Bake 5 more minutes. For occasions other than Thanksgiving, I like to add to the above recipe, sauteed onions and garlic, a can of mushrooms - either sliced or pieces and stems, and cubed ham. It makes for a whole meal and a "meat and potatoes kinda guy" would love it. This will be enough for your 8 people.

Desserts:

You need to add some little bites type desserts such as tea balls (also known as wedding cookies) or cheese biscuits (with the pecan in the middle). But You HAVE TO HAVE a POUND CAKE!!! It will go over with everyone, trust me!

Side dishes:

You need another Vegetable or Veggie Casserole like Mac and Cheese, Asparagus Casserole, or Broccoli Casserole.

With the mashed potatoes are you serving GIBLET GRAVY? If not, you need to scrap the mashed potatoes and prepare white rice instead with Giblet gravy.

I assume you have the turkey right???

Dont worry, its no sweat!

If you want some of my recipes, I would be happy to share. ssavage23@yahoo.com

Don't forget the sweet potatos and Can the stove top make fresh homemade stuffing. Hot buttered rolls and some sort of cake maybe Spice cake or pound cake. Make sure to get a nice bottle of wine to compliment the turkey.

You could try mac and cheese. I use the Luby's recipe. It comes out really good. Just google Luby's macaroni and cheese recipe. You could also do dirty rice, corn or creamed corn, or candied yams.

For desert you could do double layered pumpkin cheesecake from kraft recipes. It's awesome. I have to make it every year now. Also creamy fruit salad which is basically cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, fruit cocktail, and whatever fresh fruit you like. Must have Marachino** (don't know how to spell)** cherries. This is also very delicious.

You need more veggies and less bread. I assume you will have rolls of some kind, so that makes 4 bread dishes. How about a squash casserole, or sweet potatoe souffle. Check out Food Network for lots of other sides.

For side dishes we also have corn and maybe salad.
For dessert, some people in my family don't like pumpkin pie so, we get a chocolate pie.

Dr. Oetker instant caramel creme custard.
Baked chocolate chip meringue cookies.
Baked sweet pastries filled with chopped pistachios or chopped hazelnuts and sweetened condensed milk, sealed, and coated with golden corn syrup.
Graham crackers iced with mint flavoured icing and decorated with Smarties.
Gingerbread cookies made with golden corn syrup, blackstrap molasses, chopped ginger, and equal parts of ground cinnamon, ground clove, and ground allspice.
Apple cinnamon pie.
Blueberry struesel, coated with golden corn syrup and sprinkled with coarse sugar.
Cranberry juice.

To make turkey preparation easy for you, buy an extra large turkey breast, add coriander on the meat underneath the skin, brush the turkey with melted butter and bake.

For dessert my favorite: French silk pie! Depending on where you live there is this restaurant called Village Inn , they have it there. You'll find the recipe here:(or you could buy it)

The best thing is you don't even have to bake it! So you can't even burn it!

Try peas, yams(sweet potatoes(add orange juice)), corn, just green beans, dinner rolls.

(just a tip you don't have to follow this recipe exactly except the cheesecloth parts. This makes your turkey look perfect.
