i like a wiiide range of movies, i really like movies that are very artful, even if that's not a word. but i like movies where you have to think and take in the concept of it and such. understand? i like Breakfast at Tiffany's, Across the Universe, Zoo (a japanese film), High Tensions (a french film). not in that order, but those are some of my favorite's. judging from the contents and styles of those films, could you suggest any for me to watch? oh, and i like good horror films like the grudge, like psychological horror films too. anything, please?

Premonition (Japanese 2004)
Diva (French)
Charade
Gambit (inspired by "Rififi")
Topkapi (inspired by "Rififi")
Rififi (French)
Arabesque
The Innocents
The Haunting (original)
Vertigo
Marnie
Strangers on a Train
Shadow of a Doubt
Donnie Darko~I'm sure that you have seen it mentioned many times. It's definitely a puzzle.
A Place in the Sun
Suddenly Last Summer
Sunset Boulevard
Diabolique (French)
Three Women~This preceded "Single White Female" by many years although it doesn't resort to the violence that one does.
Repulsion
Play "Misty" For Me
Gaslight
Roadgames
Dead of Winter (1987)
Identity
Memento
Secret Window
Mr. Frost
The Ring 1 & 2
The Grudge 1 & 2
The Other (with Uta Hagen, based on Thomas Tryon's novel)
Burnt Offerings
Kwaidan (Japanese)
The Collector
Pretty Poison (with Anthony Perkins)
Black Ice (with Michael Nouri)
The Leopard Man
The Seventh Victim
I Walked With a Zombie~Don't let the title keep you from this amazing and hauntingly beautiful movie. They made producer Val Lewton use that title. The film is more like Jane Eyre set in the tropics, at least that is how Lewton and critics have viewed it.
So Long at the Fair
The Ninth Gate
Three Days of the Condor
Network
They Shoot Horses Don't They?
What Lies Beneath?
The Return (2006)~not the greatest but definitely a twisty/turny mystery
The Vanishing (1993)
Frantic
The I Inside
Fallen (with Denzel Washington)

I imagine that some of these are far astray from what you want, but they're films that have proven intriguing to me and well-worth watching numerous times. "The Innocents" is one of the best.

How about Rebecca or Vertigo. A personal favorite of mine is the original House on Haunted Hill.

If you don't mind subtitles, there's an awesome psychological thriller Korean flick called "A Tale of Two Sisters."
It leaves you wondering, right to the very end, and perhaps a bit longer, just who are the sane and insane?
It's wonderful! It stayed with me for days after I saw it.
