Selfish And Self Centered People

2016-12-10 03:18:25 · answer #2 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

There are generally three real reasons for people being selfish and self-centered. 1) They know nothing of other people's feelings and they don't realize they are being self centered and self absorbed, 2) They were raised by family and friends to believe they are more important than any one else, or 3) They were hurt by other people and now don't care how they themselves are viewed by anyone.

People who don't know that they are selfish are just people who are immature and getting them to learn about other people will take tons of life time. So don't bother....

People who were raised to believe they were important, will take a lot of time and energy to make understand that other things matter. Usually the only way these people learn that they aren't super important is if they move far away from family.

People who were hurt and are now selfish are THE WORST example of selfish and absorbed, because they KNOW they are being this way, but won't fix it, because they are so damaged. These people tend to be so protective of themselves and don't let anyone in. They generally don't get past that wall of hurt they feel from being hurt by others.

Hope this helps. :)

Would you believe that the most selfish and self centered people are the most insecure??? If you believe in yourself and what you're doing and how you're living your life is to the good than you don't have to be self centered. Self centered people have to look to them self's to give them self's the credit for what they do that others get from just living a satisfying life. IF you care about people and you help people and you spend your life worrying more about others than you. You will have others telling you that you matter and that your life is worth living. You will see it in others eyes when they look at you. You will see it when you interact with others. But people who are self centered only have themselves to look for validation and there for have to concentrate on them self's.

It's human nature. We have to LEARN to share, learn to be empathic, learn to consider the feelings of others. That is why sociopathic personalities HAVE no conscience. Because they were never taught how to care about other people and were raised in an environment where nobody cared about them. It is human nature to be selfish, inconsiderate and only out for one's self. We have to learn and consciously TRY not to be that way. Being angry at someone for being selfish is a little like being angry at a dog for licking himself: it's warranted but at the same time, not really their fault.

They didn't get much nurturing as a baby. They don't know any other way to be. Not everyone has experienced the pleasure of giving and receiving so they don't know it even exists. I think that really is true of some people.

Because of insecurity of themselves. Trying to get only benefits for them and forgetting that the great satisfaction is when you share life with everybody
