well of course any ?s u have about ur health speak to ur doctor. but i understand sometime people want to use that 3rd lifeline (the public)
Erm,Green bowel movements - what causes this?
Firstly, if you have had a green bowel movement there is no need to be overly worried. There are generally two causes for a green bowel movement:
* something you have ingested, such as large amounts of green, leafy vegetables, green or purple artificial colouring, or iron supplements
* a variation in the gut transit time, particularly fast transit caused by diarrhea and IBS.
The colour of a bowel movement generally depends on the colour of the food eaten and the state of the bile that is produced by the liver. Bile is green in color and is only changed to brown through a proper digestive process, which takes time.
So, if the food is travelling too fast through the intestines there is no time for the bile to be chemically changed, and so it will remain green until it is expelled from the body.
The basic message is that a green bowel movement is not in itself generally cause for alarm, especially if it's just a sign that you've been eating too many popsicles. However, if it is a sign of severe diarrhea then you may want to see your doctor.
Please remember that all medical information on the internet is not designed to replace your relationship with your doctor and should not be used to diagnose any medical problem.

It could have been from something that you ate. Some food coloring can cause your bowels to take on a tinge of green. Once I ate a huge piece of birthday cake that was covered with bright blue frosting and I was pooping green for about 2 days. If it goes on any longer than that, then go see your doctor. But, I am pretty sure it was probably just from something you ate.

it must be some issues various from no longer-so-severe, to fairly severe. i understand that some cereals and food products for toddlers (like Fruity Pebbles) have coloring in them, which will influence the easily colour of fecal count, so if he's eating some style of cereal like this it is particularly useful to attempt giving him some thing else for an afternoon or 2 to be sure if it is going away. indexed right here are some the rationalization why bowel movements could be green: - weight loss application is rich in leafy green vegetables - eating super parts of food coloring - extra iron interior the burden loss application - Iron no longer being top absorbed - green pigments in bile salts If it lasts for a variety of days, easily call your surgeon and function him take a glance. desire this helps!

A green stool is caused from dyes and food colouring. Nothing to be worried about. I got the green poo from drinking too much of a flavour of pop I cannot remember at the time. I think it was one of the Crush flavours. Oh and that one Pepsi flavour did it too.

not really, that just means you ate something with some reall strong blue or some type of color. like if you drink grape juice, when you use the bathroom your bowl movement is going to be green just like if you eat beats or any type of blue substance or food

It depends what you have eaten. Do you have any pain, or bloating, or anything out of the ordinary other than the color. Maybe you ate something out of the ordinary, or a lot of green vegetables. Try to rule out diet. Have you ever had this before? Good luck.

Depends on what you've eaten in the last day or two. If the smell isn't overwhelmingly worse than usual, you have no abdominal pain, then I'd think you ate lots of spinach or something, or have taken some medicine, vitamin, or herbal supplement recently.

Food coloring causes green poops. i notice it when I have Gatoraide and Fruit Loops and stuff like that. If you look back I bet you'll find something you ate the last 2 days with a lot of food coloring.

Usually it is one of two things, you could have eaten spinach or something else strong in color or you could be purging a virus.
Worst case is you could have an infection but that is very doubtful.
If it is still green in a few days, go to the doctor!
