Many people simply don't know and others type phonetically, but it seems a dispropotionate number of words are showing up in correspondence with "a" for "e" or "i" for "a", etc.
Do you have to correct a lot of such typos you never had to before? When did the problem start? What do you think is the cause?

Nope. My typos are from typing too fast or when I'm really tired. Spelling is ok. Did you have any examples of such words?

I was NEVER a great speller, I used the dictionary a lot. My best friend in school was the national spelling champ and I could ask her. NOW......THANK YOU GOD FOR SPELL CHECK.

And I sincerely wish more people on this answer thing would use it more.
