Hi all, i hope the question is clear enough. The main thing is that i dont want the children to use microphone feature for voip or msn or yahoo messenger. But at the same time i have no objection for watching movies and listen songs. Also i dont want to make separate accounts for this purpose. I am using windows XP, IE7.
So is there any perfect way of doin such stuff...
Thanks in advance

The specific method of muting your microphone is dependent on the sound card you're using. You can try going into the control panel and opening the 'sound and audio device' window and deselect, or mute the microphone the microphone, or if you have the speaker icon on your task bar, open that up and see if you have the option of muting the microphone.

The XP volume control, the big version, not the little one that pops up with a single click on the tool bar, has a section for microphone volume and muting. As long as the kids don't know about it, it can keep things muted.
