I've always considered myself as to having a pretty simple pleasant life. in the last year things have happened and i've let it spiral out of control. my boyfriend and first true love broke my heart and fooled around with a friend of mine. my mom's brother died from agent orange exposure. i've found out a lot of my friends aren't true friends. i had to take a semester off because i was so stressed out and now i give myself a hard time for doing it. i am back at school now but am having a hard time getting through...so i might take another semester off. my brother also collapsed in a race... he seems to be doing ok but was hospitalized for a couple days/checked for heart problems and gave us a real scare.
so i just wanted to say thanks because in the time i took off i found the P&S community, and i have even made some friends here. i want to say thanks to those who support each other, and keep eachother entertained with good questions and answers. have you found this also?

I was taught to say Your welcome when someone says Thanks or Thank you. Even if I don't know why they are thanking me.
I know how it is to find out how real your friends are. It seems as if a crisis has to occur to see the truth.
I am sorry for your loss as my Dad is in the final stages of Alzheimer's which was linked to Agent Orange from his time in Vietnam.
As for your boy friend you are better off without him as had you ended up married to him he would have done the same.
I do hope you get your degree behind you and move on with your life. The important people will always be in your life and your real friends will be there when you need them the most.
I also want to wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving!

WOW Ross you've gone through a lot I feel
your pain I've been through a lot myself @ll my
problems began in '94 & now in 2007 I'm
independant again, although I'm not 100%
back to my regular self I'm doing it on my own
& it feels good. If you beleive in GOD or not
remember he's there to help you through the
hardships of life, I can summirise what
happened to be in that verse That they made
into posters/postcards Footsteps because
that's the way it's been for me. Everytime I feel
like the world is crumbling around me I look to
the LORD & things get dramatically better.

I had a similar year in 2004 where everything was falling apart, I broke up with my bf of 4 years, there was a serious accident in my family, took a semester off as well cause I couldn't concentrate with everything that was happening all at the same time... Just hang in there. :) Time does heal. I'm much happier now.

I am glad we have been able to help you thru your difficult time. I feel isolated because I work while the world is sleeping and sleep while the world is awake and Yahoo Answers helps me keep connected with the human race. There are a lot of wonderful people on here that have turned into dear friends.

I feel I have made some good friends through P&S, too.....there are many great people here who can raise a smile when I am not exactly smiling to begin with. This year has not been the best year for me....mainly due to a couple of family health issues, which I hope have now been resolved...but many of my friends from here have raised smiles when I needed it....so I can relate to what you are saying.
Thank you for posting this question....and good luck to you!
