I see where you are going with this.... one would think the king of the jungle would have some sort of body hair, as opposed to looking like the main course at a SoHo bar.
I'll be Jane had more hair down there than on his entire body.

Because it is Hollywood, where creating a sex symbol is more important than being true to the book of Edgar Rice Burroughs. Read the book, "Tarzan of the Apes", and see what the description of Tarzan is.
By the way... he also was not created by Disney, and did not swing through the jungle to the accompaniment of Phil Collins tunes.

Because while he hangs around from tree to tree one of those vines had got tangled with his long beard... It might have explained why he yells all the time...
And since then, he didn't have them, whenever he had them grown, he would asked the gorillas to shave it off... ^_^

ok, look closely at a monkey or gorilla. notice how they have no hair on their face. there's hair around the face, but none on the face.
similarly, because tarzan has been so gorillalized, he has no facial hair.

Because it is a movie! Not real life. They can do what they want with characters in a movie- oh, how come his teeth are clean and white? Or his nails are trimmed? His hair and body are clean?
