Funny how people react to this. Yankee fans assume you are talking about the past tense, Red Sox fans assume you are talking about the present day.
Sure seems to me that you can't be talking about anything but the two squads right now. And the Red Sox are the World Series champion, winning in decisive fashion.

At this point in time, its the Red Sox. They just won a World Series. World Series are to determine who the best team in baseball is that season. The Yankees have very great numbers, that's unarguable but I didn't see them in the World Series.

Right now its certainly the Red Sox. They won the World Series so I think that means they're the best team in the league. Although I have to admit that head-to-head the Yankees usually win and always make Red Sox fans nervous.

GIve it a rest already on this question....the Series just over...the Stinkin Red Sox won....leave it alone until the season starts again and then I will be glad just how much I hate the Red Sox!.....but in the meantime, give me a break still trying to forget that they won this year!!
