For as long as I can remember, two weeks before Christmas, my mom and I make cookies - all kinds - now that my brother and I have kids...they have taken over, baking and decorating with Grandma.....we go to Church on Christmas Eve....Christmas morning, we have a huge breakfast, open presents and then just hang out the rest of the day until Christmas dinner is ready - which is always ham, mashed potatoes, noodles, green beans and Christmas cookies for desert...

When my oldest daughter was three, she came up with her very own Christmas tradition - not sure what it has to do with Christmas...but it was all her idea - the day before Christmas Eve....we go to Jolly Pirate donuts and everyone picks out their favorite....we ohhh and ahhh over 'em...we come home...eat 'em and thats that! Its the ONE day a year we eat a donut LOL....:)

My husband has cooked Christmas dinner since 1975, I'm not even allowed in the kitchen. Now our sons do the same in their families. I take care of Boxing Day that's when, many years ago, we had our first 'Hobbit Tea' (another family tradition complete with two colour drinks). When they were small my children they could open their stocking any time after midnight but for the presents we would all get up have breakfast, be washed, dressed, dinner in the oven and then sit and open presents one at a time it was great fun. Unfortunately he's working all day today but festivities will continue when he gets in.

since i was around 3(I'm 19 now), my dad, brother and i would leave early (shortly after opening presents) from the christmas on my moms side that was always on christmas eve night. we would go to my grandmas (dads mom) house so we could go to the 10:30pm church service with her. then when church was done, we would go back to her house and eat some homemade christmas junk food and go to bed around midnight
