am curioius to know if u were an homcide detective how do u guys solve a murder? Especially in talking to a victim's family, friends, work associates, and establishing a timeline in regards to the victim's last movements. Who did the victim last have contact with? What are the victim's habits, routines? What might we find out by checking incoming and outgoing calls on the victim's cell phone, home phone, computer? Is the victim a high risk or low risk victim? Can someone explain to me the importance of keeping an open mind and considering everyone a possible suspect?

If you really want to help the investigation - comply with the requests of the investigators. They'll tell you what they need, and the faster you get it for them, the easier you make their job(s). Also, aside from discussing it with your own attorney, do NOT talk to anyone else about it. You can contaminate your memory and the memories of others.
