OK here is the story. I like to go shopping but i shop for stuff like entertainment and music, I go alone shopping. I'm prefer to sit near boys in class than girls although i still have nothing against girls, I shave my body hair every 2 weeks, I hang around with more girls than guys at lunch.

Am i gay?

You do not need to have an effeminate inflection to be gay. Shopping is not really a major indication, and shopping mostly for music and entertainment does not make you gay unless you are wild about musicals ;). Depending on age, you might just prefer to be near guys as opposed to being attracted to them - the opposite sex can seem very alien at first. Shaving your body hair and hanging around with girls at lunch is a little "suspect" but I would wait and see who you find yourself attracted too sexually later on. You could try a straight relationship. You will not know which you prefer just by who offers you a relationship first - it will depend on which you are attracted to. You might be gay, especially since you are uncertain, but being uncertain is common in your teens and even into the early twenties - if you have not had a strogn physical attraction to someone, it is normal to start wondering. Consider which celebrities or actors and actresses seem most appealing to you, that can be one indicator but you might not be sure yet. The aversion to body hair is a little odd, it sounds like you are a little turned off by developing sexually - you might want to talk to a counselor about that.

None of those factors would determine if you're gay or not. What you should be asking yourself is, are you attracted to guys or girls. When you spend time with other guys do you find yourself wanting more than just a conversation, do you yearn for a more physical interaction with them?

Everything you described above was exactly how I was in high school, I would call myself more masculine acting than feminine and I am gay, however, I have quite a few straight male friends that will meet that description as well.

You might be, but then agian, everyone might be. The stuff you describe are perfectly normal, many people shop for entertainment and music, and many, including males, do it alone. I think that you pefer to sit near males because you want to cast this image of 'manliness'. You will think that your classmate will think you are a sissy to sit near girls, they been doing that in Grade School, and instilled it into your mind. There is nothing wrong with shaving, and doing so won't make you gay. Also, you may have more female freinds then Male freinds. Good day to you.

nope! men undersand men and girls understand girls and maybe u like hanging around boys more because u dont wanna leave ur confort zone. Oh regards to shopping it is normal u get music everyone loves music this is no problem. For the girls if u want to change i would sit between a boy and a girl in classes to start off with good luck.

No I don't think you are gay most guys sit in a group in class and talk about all kinds of **** and some guys do go shopping alone because they don't want other guys to know what kind of music they listen to.

Umm..from everything that you just described about yourself, it doesn't seem like you're gay to me.

Apparently if you had to ask a question like that about yourself, then that says a lot. The real question I have for you is, "Are you attracted to guys"? If you are, then you definitely have gay tendencies.

But I really can't explain the part about you liking to sit near guys more than girls. That's confusing me a bit.

The easiest way is, do you think of girls or boys sexually?

Being born and raised in Melbourne, I have a lot of gay friends and not all of them love shopping and shave their hair.

All the things you have described does not make you gay. Think about who you like and then you will have your answer. As long as your happy and well, it doesn't matter what your sexuall orientation is. :-)

Only you can answer that question. Based on what you have said you may or may not be. Since you mentioned you prefer sitting near "boys" but have nothing against "girls" I assume you are pretty young. Enjoy your youth and be friends with both sexes. Your sexual orientation will surface soon enough. Good luck to you.

Monkey P got it right, plus a lot of other answers. You are too young, you may be curious and wondering, it might be something you want to try, but experimenting does not make you gay either, everything you listed does NOT make you gay.

i guess its only you who can really tell,, have you ever thought you could be gay as youve grown up?, like other feelings youve had,
you arnt really doing anything that sounds too gay , at your age your still young and havent experimented in sexual stuff yet, but when you do dont start with boys cos u may turn yourself gay!
start with girls and see how you go,, and if you are theres no better time,,, theres alot of gay people in this world, they fit in well,
my cousins son waited till 18 then moved out of home in with a guy, but we could tell from years before that he was gay!, has anyone ever told you in your family that you may be gay? xxxxxxxxxx
