I have to agree with Alqua. Jefferson's intellect was impressive.
But Lincoln had a great deal of wisdom evident in his writing.
Teddy Roosevelt was an accomplished author.
John Kennedy was said to be brilliant - or at least smart enough to surround himself with some of the best academic minds in the country. And how can we exclude James Garfield? Garfield was the first ambidextrous president.
It was said that one could ask him a question in English and he could simultaneously write the answer in Latin with one hand, and Ancient Greek with the other.

Most educated doesn't always equate to most intellectually gifted. Difficult to measure and bound to come down to a matter of opinion. So I am wrong - - in your opinion - - which is fine. The fact that you are thinking says much for you.
Keeping an open mind is useful too. Everyone is allowed his or her opinion in this country (the U.S.)

I think you are the wrong one because the most educated and prepared of the first ten and of all U.S. presidents was John Quincy Adams, the sixth president. The most educated out of the first five would probably have to be Jefferson.
