At the start of the year I had a major spinal fusion it went for like 12 and a half hours, then I was in hospital for 3 weeks then off school for months. It was very traumatic, im am extremely young, hence being the youngest patient at the hospital I went to. Now, at every mention at an opporation or of something being wrong with me I burst into tears, is this partly becuase of my opperation?

So sorry you had to go through operation. What you've gone through was not easy and you've been very brave and courageous. I think what your going through is normal considering you've been through a lot. Surgery can be traumatizing, maybe it will help for you to speak to some one about your feelings and tapping in to it can be therapeutic.

I doubt that a spinal operation could cause you to cry without warning. It isn't any medical problem, its emotional. You are probably still upset about your surgery- sometimes even if you think you've gotten over something it can still bring back unwanted memories. You should talk to someone about this, like an understanding family member or friend. Be honest. Maybe you'd feel better if you just let all your emotions out.
If not, theres always therapy.

I think you we're just very stressed by the whole experience- & haven't "recoverd" from it emotionally, just yet. It was a Tough thing you went through- But, you DID IT ! Pat yourself on the Back- & "get on" with your recovery AND your Life. Don't worry about what WAS or what COULD be; think about what you WANT from the Future- & HOW you intend to get it! Good Luck! :)

Maybe you have post traumatic stress disorder. Talk to a therapist, or psychatrist. You can google PTSD and it will give some signs and symptoms but ultimately it has to be diagnosed by a specialist.
