It is a huge liability risk for them to serve you while you stand in their drive thru. You could get run over by some stupid driver and then sue McDonalds because it happened while they were serving you food as you stood in their drive thru. You are not looking at the whole picture. It's frustrating not getting what you want all the time, but you sound so childish. Just go home and make yourself a sandwich or something.

I don't know about the burger part, but it is obvious you need the cheese to go with your WHINE!

As others have said, there is a liability issue with walk up patrons at a drive in window! There is no sidewalk, and no place for you to stand safely! If they served you and you were hit by a car, I am sure you would want to sue them!!

The fact that you have had your car totaled is not McDonald's problem. If the accident was the other drivers fault, they (or their insurance) should pay to repair your car, or give you the value of the car.

You know that you do not have a car. You know you can not go through the McDonald's drive through without a car! I am assuming that the drive through is all that is open at that time of night, so you can not walk in and order. You say nothing else is open at that time! It seems that with a little planning, you could go and buy food and have it at your home waiting for you when you get off work!!

Until you get another car, you will not be able to stop for food on the way home!

I agree with you here. Sure McDonald's has responsiblity to keep it's customers somewhat safe, but hey why not build a sidewalk at the drivethru? Or just have one window they use for walk ups? I remember before I had a car and it was late (like in Jr High or something) I thought it was so stupid I couldn't order anything. It's like no shirt, no shoes...no car?...no service.

The issue isn't that McDonald's is so hard up, but that some lawyer and judge would actually ALLOW a lawsuit to go to court in the event a person WAS hit in the drive thru.

No I am a student in Law School studying to become a Lawyer. You have no grounds to sue. Its store policy for vehicles only to go through drive through. And I can also add it was incredibly stupid and dangerous for you to walk through it. Because some people who are in big trucks won't see you and they WILL hit you. It has happened before and people have died. Don't try it again and apologize to the McDonald's manager.

There are sensors in the drive-thru lane that detect when a car has pulled up, yet they don't detect when a person is walking through, for the same reasons you wouldn't want to detect a squirrel or stray dog walking through the lot-- the main reason they don't let you order via drive-thru is that they have no way of knowing you're there unless you walk up to the main window and by that point you've bypassed the entire drive-thru chain of events.

If you were hit by a car in the DRIVE-THRU MacDonald's would be responsible and could be sued big time. Buy a couple of double cheese burgers before you go to work and heat them up when you get home.

Sorry to hear about your transportation problems. If you would have had the right kind of insurance on your car, you wouldn't be hoofing it around town. It's called a "drive through" for a reason. If you were to get run over walking through the drive through, McDonald's could be liable.

I too believe it`s an issue of liability . They don`t want to get sued if someone should hit you with their car .
