There are more then 70 all inclusive Hotels and resorts in Punta Cana along the coast. Paradisus Palma real would be the best. If you a Golf lover, Cocotal Golf would be the best Golf course in Punta Cana.
Many discotheques, beach bars, beach restaurants, outside of Hotels. Hard Rock cafe, Theme parks, Water Parks, many excursions, and of course entertainment in the Hotels.
So you can not get bored in Punta Cana, at all.

I just returned from the Paradisus in Punta Cana last month, which is an all-inclusive. The grounds are very beautiful and immaculate and the beach is gorgeous, but I wouldn't say it was an amazing resort. There are a lot of excursions to take from the hotel too---dolphins, deep sea fishing, parasailing, etc. but probably not a lot for your children. It is very hot and humid and the only part of the resort that has air conditioning are the individual rooms. Even the lobby is stifling during the day (and I like the heat).
The food was not the best we've ever had (not the worst either) and some of it was stale the first day we were there. Also, the staff is friendly, but very slow. Be prepared to be on DR time. Also, it would be helpful to know some Spanish before you go as many people only know limited English. We were supposed to have a king bed and had two doubles and it took me over an hour to switch rooms (all done in Spanish). If I had used English, it probably would have taken a day.
I've heard very similar from others who have traveled to Punta Cana but stayed elsewhere.

Punta Cana is a stunning motel section positioned interior the east of the Dominican Republic. that's a fave vacation spot and good determination for couples and households looking for the perfect sea coast and sunny days. In Punta Cana, it’s all about the sea coast. the realm has develop right into a haven for travelers who're looking for a sea coast chair, a tropical drink and a good study. The seashores alongside the jap coast, round Punta Cana and Bavaro, are fantastically white and correctly groomed and the water is turquoise sparkling. the overall public of the over 30 motels in Punta Cana are all-inclusive, taking under consideration an easygoing holiday with a lot to do.

Punta Cana is a "tourist area" but outside the hotels there is nothing to see. The next town is 29 miles away! So if beach and swim covers your holiday it is ok! But if you wanna have a real holiday go to Puerto Plata more beach more to see, the town is 10 min from all the good hotels. You have Ocean World, Isabella de Torre, and so many thing to do! (#^ excursions!!!! Think it ad enjoy it!
Bye Bye !
