gf dad got a dodge v8 4x4 driving home at 60 mph losses speed pulls off the road slowly keeps lossing speed got to the point were only could go 10 mph check engine light came on battery good just started lossing power what could this be

Could also be a plugged catalytic converter. An easy way to test it is to remove the oxygen sensor. This will relieve the pressure and the engine will run. Above answers are also good advise. Many times when it gets plugged, it won't stall the engine right away. Usually a catalytic converter won't go bad on its own, something up stream killed it.

too many possibilities to list, if the vehicle is still mobile even at low speeds, get the CPU scanned for any trouble codes and go from there. you could have a fuel issue, computer issue or a number of other problems. you could also have a blockage in the exhaust.

Could be alot of different things, you need to pull the codes. But it sounds like the OBD (the trucks computer) went into safe mode. It just gives you enough power to get you home.

I agree with Pup.... it is a bad altermator.... try this quick test..... start the truck and remove the positive terminal, if the truck dies the alternator is bad, if it keeps running it is good, I bet it is bad, get a new alternator and you should be fine.

Could be a number of things. Bad alternator, clog in the fuel line, bad gasket...
