haha.. i have had friends who have had this problem too XD

when my friends were teaching me (that sounds a bit odd) they told me to sort of squat when doing it, that helps alot! also, dont be scared to get your hands dirty XD the first time may hurt a bit, but thats only the first time... if you have it in half way, just keep pushing it in.

if its really too hard, try using an applicator, i use them. They work for some but dont for others. I think its easier to use and much cleaner.

haha... good luck XD

Spread your legs pretty wide, perhaps wider than you're used to. Angle the tampon back, not up. If you need extra lubrication, use a little K-Y Jelly or similar lubricant around the tip of the tampon; this can help insertion to go easier. Use a tampon that is of appropriate size. If you use a smaller one to start, it might be easier. Hold the tampon around the neck of the applicator and insert it until your fingers are touching your body. Then depress the applicator until the tampon is in as far as it will go. Sometimes it will not get in far enough, and that can be uncomfortable. You can always take it out and try again. You might want to use some K-Y Jelly if this happens because it can tend to dry you out. Don't worry; you'll figure it out.

what do u mean by 'unable to get a tampon to work'?

will it not go in?
does it hurt to put it in?
does it not get the blood?

if it doesnt go in, put ur leg up on the counter, toilet, tub, anything... and try then

if it hurts to put it in, then ur flow isnt heavy enough for that kind of tampon, and u should get one for a lighter flow

if its not catching the blood, then thats prob not ur vagina, and i suggest that u look on the diagram in the instructions to find out just where it is

When I first started using them, id use one with an applicator and lie on a towel on the ground to put it in. It may not be practical at school or a work situation, but to get used to it and just get it working, I found lying down really good. I also had HEAPS of difficulty getting one in standing, or even squatting.

this took me forever to figure out

basically i just can't think about it while i'm inserting the tampon or else i tense up and it doesn't work. just dont even think about that, think about something else and your body relaxes the muscles automatically.

dont give up hope, you'll get it

Either squat on a toilet, or put one foot up on the toilet and relax your muscles. Go slowly as you insert it, aim it towards your lower back and be gentle. I know these are on the instructions, but they do work. It is def. very nerve racking to learn how to.
