This Electronic device needs to work when car is running, so I can't just clamp it to the battery.
Is there a way I can get a connection from the ignition??? so It turns on and off from the Key. If so, where would I find this connection?

The car Is 1998 toyota Corolla LE. I would Appritiate any help or maybe links to helpfull websites.

the cigratte Lighter (not the fuse) died on me when 10A were sucked...
As silly as it sounds, Right now, its connected to the Rear Window defoger and I am worried it might burn its wires also..

If you have a test light, go to the fuse panel. Look for an open slot - there should be several. Find one that is active when the key is turned on but inactive when the key is out. Use this spare slot for the device, and add a 15 amp fuse.

You can also connect it to the ignition wire that is hot when the key is on. Just be careful with the ignition system - you can cause yourself big headaches if you cut any wires.

Another option, though not as convenient, would be to run from the battery to a switch that can be mounted in one of the spare switch bays, then to the device. You would have to manually turn the device on and off, but it is by far the easiest solution.

look for an accessory port in the fuse box and double check the fuse strength against the load you are about to put onto the circuit. as for your other idea, the defroster, taping into that circuit would not damage the wires but it would more than likely blow that fuse.
