i am a mom,have a 5 y/o daughter who is in kindergarten.
my husband recently left us,and with nothing,we are in an apartment now and we need to pay soon.i have nothing,no work,no money.i want to stand for my self and my daughter.im new in usa,have no relatives or friends.dont know where to go and ask for help.social worker?we need help to survive.i worry for my kid's life.im reaching for somene with a good heart that can give me information to where i can ask assistance,in whatever matter.thank you.

Contact DSHS (Department of Health and Social Services) and see about getting food assistance, and cash assistance until you can get on your feet. They can help you find a job. I'm sorry you are alone with your daughter. Most cities have a social services department , look in a phone book. you may be eligible for assistance, there are different rules for the states government agency's but you should be eligible for food stamps and housing assistance. you have to look but there is help out there. If you are part of a religious community you could ask them for help. Or there are organizations like the united way and the salvation army that can help. Hope that helps.
