My 4 y/o has a very simple food taste. So I tend to stick to simple food myself. Although being invited to friends or family homes for dinner is a big treat.

Do you enjoy cooking or is it a hassle for you?

Donya: Yes I agree, Gladys, your new picture is beautiful. I'd give anything to have you for my next door neighbor (and my son's grandma too).

Love to cook. Even though my kids are all adults and live on their own - and I've been single for 30 years, I still cook for myself.

I hate "fast food" places and won't put that stuff in my mouth. I always have home made soups and spaghetti sauce, chili, etc in the freezer if I don't feel like cooking.

I really love the holidays when the family gets together. I'm a cooking fool..........

I love cooking and always have.

I'm looking forward to moving into my Senior Complex and then I will be able to cook for my friends again. I do this to keep in shape and I cook anything that's cookable. And, since I've been a pastry chef in the past, they get a good dessert with their dinner. I'm currently revising a couple of my desserts and this is fun. Finding more ways to make them healthy, but fooling everybody into thinking they're sinning!

I don't mind the clean-up either, I do it as I go along, so there's no big mess to clean up after the guests leave. I can thoroughly enjoy the friendship and fellowship of the meal.

Many times recently, I just
cook to have something to eat.
When I'm in the mood tho,
I can thro together a feast.
It lasts 3 days and I put lots
in the freezer for later, but it
tastes good while I have it.
I think it's the eating alone and usually while typing at the same time that really doesn't
make for the ultimate dining
experience.
I just found the new "Oriental
Buffet" here in town yesterday. I can't believe how
good their food is. They have
buffet style with 5 large
tables covered with heavenly
dishes. I wanted a bring home, so I filled a (styrofoam
ugh) plate with delicacies that
would melt in your mouth.
Best dinner I've had in a long
while and only $4.50.
They charge $3.50 lb. for take-out.

I cook the evening meal at an Assisted Living facility and typically cook (and clean up from) about 25 residents 4 nights a week. Cooking is a huge job that is getting a bit more difficult as I get older (those hotel pans aren't light.) BTW, I really don't like to cook either.....lol...but if I want to do my other job there is Activities Asst. then I have to cook, too.

I love cooking! This afternoon at 2pm I got a big pot of chicken and vegetables on the go with plenty of garlic added. It's bubbling away on the stove and the smell is wonderful! We'll be eating it later....6ish maybe. We've all got colds starting so hopefully my chicken stew will ward off the nasty bugs! I'll be making some nice, big, soft dumplings to go on top of it too. Our Sunday dinner all in one pot! I love baking too and have a multitude of recipes. Sometimes it can take hours for a meal to be prepared and cooked and it's scoffed in a matter of 10 minutes....best compliment any cook can have is the sound of "mmm!" and nothing else!

Cooking is a hassle, the clean up is a geater one. If you take a look at what cooking cost in home , it comes very close to what it costs eating out...IF I lived alone, I would never eat in...So much work for so little, but then again, food is fuel to me, not an adventure. Phil

I enjoy eating more than cooking. There is always someone who complains about something. I like when I make a big turkey or roast beef because we all like that. It's the ordinary everyday meals that are hard to co-ordinate.
Hope you don't mind WW just want to say how about the new pic of Gladys! She rocks!

I enjoy cooking, but I hate cleaning up all of the pots/pans, things like that (especially when I'm making a more complex meal).

Also, when my 3 year old and 1 1/2 year old are in the kitchen hanging onto my legs, it makes it less enjoyable, haha. However like anything, seeing (and more importantly tasting & getting good feedback) the results makes it rewarding.

I usually enjoy cooking. I especially like cooking for a big holiday. Now those days are past and I usually cook because I have to eat. Now and then I get the urge to do it up royally just for me and make a feast. I love left overs.

After cooking for a family and two husbands for over forty years, it's become a hassle. I'm burned out. I have learned to simplify my cooking as much as possible. Not necessarily simpler meals, but simpler ways of doing them. For instance, instead of buying carrots in the bunch where you have to peel and chop the carrots, I buy the baby cut carrots. Saves time and work. I love eating out and going to people's houses. When people come to my house, we do a pot luck buffet. It's just me and my husband now.
