Depending on whether or not you are going with friends or family. If you are going with the family, DEFINITELY Virginia Beach, Virginia (summertime) Awesome place for family vacations. There is plenty of stuff to do if you are bringing children and there is a variety of southern style foods and of course, fresh seafood to choose from. Good Luck on making vacation plans and seriously, I hope you have a GREAT time. Visit www.virginiabeach.com to get more information.

If you like to golf Alabama is the place. The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is a major must. It's a collection of championship courses across the state.

If you want to stay in the northern part of the state you have:

1. The Space and Rocket Center, Aviation Challenge, and he only Saturn V rocket designated a National Historic Landmark.
2. Huntsville's historic district, including actress Tallulah Bankhead's birthplace.
3. Huntsville Art Museum. An exhibit of pieces from the Uffizi Gallery will be starting soon.
4. Helen Keller's home in Tuscumbia.
5. Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Tuscumbia, where people such as Paul Simon recorded.
6. Pope's Tavern in Florence.
7. Frank Lloyd Wright's Rosenbaum House in Florence.
8. W.C. Handy Birthplace in Florence.
9. Wilson Dam, the first dam built across the Tennessee River.
10. Athens' historic district has narrow, tree-lined avenues with many examples of antebellum architecture than can be seen on a self-guided Antebellum driving trail.
11. Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman. Truly trash into treasure at the Benedictine Monestary. http://www.avemariagrotto.com

I'm from Michigan and last spring a group of friends went whitewater rafting in SE Tennessee, it was a blast. Great camping in the Smokies too if you enjoy the outdoors. If not, you can rent nice cabins in the mountains. True peaceful and scenic getaway.

We'd love to have you in Georgia! With the Atlantic Ocean in the southern part of the state, the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the north, and Atlanta smack dab in the middle, Georgia makes sense as a vacation destination for you! Everything is always going on in Atlanta, the hub of the South and portal to everything Southern. No matter what you're looking for, you can be sure you'll find it in Atlanta! And all around the state you will find tons of down-home festivities and great things to do. Savannah is a beautiful destination vacation if you enjoy class, grace and elegance. There are so many historical sites to see, places to indulge your taste buds, spas to relax, etc. If you are into sports, your options are endless. Aside from having hosted the Olympics in '96 (Olympic Park is a must-see in Atlanta!), we are also a state full of sports activities. The golf here is amazing (case-in-point: our world famous August National golf course, home of the Masters). There are also countless trails for hiking/biking, endless rivers and lakes to raft/canoe/kayak/swim down, and many many sports complexes. Georgia is an excellent destination for sports fans (housing a ton of professional sports teams). Visit us at Turner-Field for a Braves game, or stop by the Georgia Dome to watch the Falcons play! While in Atlanta, be sure to check out the World of Coke, Underground Atlanta, the High Museum of Art, the Georgia Aquarium, famous Zoo Atlanta, the classic Fox Theatre, and Stone Mountain just to name a few!

If you like to shop, Atlanta is the best place in the South. Atlanta has so many malls and premier outlet malls that you'll be sure to find just what you're looking for here! From Saks Fifth Avenue to Urban Outfitters to Bass Pro Shops, we've got you covered. (I love the outlets!!!) Georgia is also a wonderful state for nightlife, not at all limited to just Atlanta. Atlanta, Athens, and Savannah all have great night scenes. Tons of bars and clubs for young people to hang out at. I personally enjoy them a lot! Georgia also features five-star lodging and dining throughout the state. But if you're looking for something more cozy, there are a ton of "hidden jewel" hometown restaurants/diners and bed & breakfast inns to keep you warm at night. Whatever your budget, I feel certain Georgia can accomodate you on your stay and make it wonderful.

There really is so much to see here (as well as all the states honestly), but we'd absolutely love to have you here! From fine dining to shopping to sports to history, I hope you'll come visit and see why Georgia really should be on your mind! Drop me a line if you'd like more travel information. It's what I do so I'd be happy to help!

Oklahoma. It is the state's 100th birthday this year. Not to small, not to big. An intresting blend of Southwestern, mid-western, and southern culture.

Alabama. I am from there and I miss it! Try Huntsville. We are known for the Space and Rocket Center (a NASA museum).

Alabama is nothing like what you see on the movies, btw
