We've habitually (or covertly) supported paramilitary dictatorships in the past?

(Pakistan comes to mind. As does Saddam Hussein.)

Are we not practicing what we preach?

The U.S. government is not practicing what it preaches due to the recent agenda to make the U.S. Constitution weaker and offer less support to the citizens of this once great country. It can still be a great country in the future if we as citizens help get rid of the enemies of the Constitution as soon as possible........

We need to start following a non-interventionalsit foreign policy. We shouldnt be policing the world and starting pre emptive Wars with countries. We need to stop giving billions of dollars worth of military aid to countries like Pakistan.

Many countries in the world are extremely worried about us.

US support for democracy has always been prioritized below other contemporary political goals. It would be VERY refreshing for the US to take a consistent stand on freedom and democracy for even four years...just to see how the world fails to even notice and continues to bash us. ;-)

I totally agree and we have for many years, the thinking is if it benefits us then its o.k but in reality its double standards we use. There are many world wide that see this about us,and that's why we are hated .Yes we supported Saddam and helped him in war against Iran and made sure Saddam stayed in power as long as we benefited from it.
